Bringing Clarity to the Divorce Process

Noam is the frum community’s trusted resource for navigating divorce with dignity, information, and shalom.

Why Noam Exists

In the frum community, divorce too often becomes an unnecessarily adversarial process.

Families are pushed toward escalation by a system that defaults to conflict—not because people are malicious, but because there is a lack of accessible, trustworthy information about alternatives.

Misunderstandings about halacha, legal processes, and available options lead to decisions driven by fear rather than facts. The result is prolonged suffering, fractured relationships, and outcomes that serve no one’s interests—least of all the children. In most cases, the adversarial path does not lead to a better result — only a more expensive and painful one.

What We Do

Noam operates on three pillars:

  • 1. Education

We provide clear, accessible information about the divorce process, legal options, halachic considerations, and what to expect at every stage.

  • 2. Mediator Support & Referrals

We train and support a network of qualified mediators who understand both the legal and communal dimensions of frum divorce. We also connect families with appropriate, vetted professionals.

  • 3. Community Awareness

We work with rabbanim, schools, and community organizations to shift the culture around divorce toward one of understanding, support, and reduced conflict.

What We Don’t Do

Noam does not provide legal or halachic advice, and we do not mediate or get involved in the divorce process itself. We do not advocate for one party over another, and we do not take sides. We are not here to tell you whether or not to get divorced—that decision is yours alone. Our role is to inform, educate, and connect—so that families can make their own decisions from a place of knowledge and clarity rather than confusion and fear.

Our Values

Shalom

Even when a marriage must end, a couple can attain cooperation. Rooted in the Torah’s call to actively pursue peace, a less adversarial path reduces hostility, promotes long-term well-being, and lays the groundwork for healthier co-parenting.

Empowerment

We offer people the clarity they need to make informed decisions. By restoring self-determination, we help individuals proceed with confidence and focus.

Nonjudgment

We do not take sides or question a couple’s decision to divorce; we meet people where they are.

Practicality

We emphasize a pragmatic approach to divorce: regardless of the other party’s behavior, choosing a less adversarial path is often the most effective way to protect one’s own well-being, resources, and long-term interests.

Who We Are

Noam is guided by a dedicated board of community leaders who bring together expertise in halacha, law, education, and nonprofit leadership.
